Fuelizzle Pumpizzle
hey guys whats up? okay so in another month im getting a Turbo XS boost controller and a Greddy BOV....I wanna boost more pressure than 15 psi...my buddy told me i would have to get a fuel pump. Are there any other modifactions i would have to do my car in order to safely get over 15 psi of boost? Also, where is the fuel pump located and is it easy to install? What kind of fuel pump should i get since i have slight modifications on my car, i.e. intake, esxhaust?

Re: Fuelizzle Pumpizzle
The wuick easy answer is the walbro 190. No regulator required. If you plan to make more than about 400 whp, you may wnat to consider the 255lph and an aftermarket pressure regulator. Both pumps are the same price (~100 bucks) but that reg adds significantly to the cost ...

cool man thanks a lot buddy...so then i dont need any other modifications if im only gonna make like less than 300hp?for example ill have an intake, boost controller, bov, exhaust, and a fuel pump amd ill be safe with boost over 15psi? is the 190 easy to install... How far can i safely increase boost on my 2g stock turbo with the above modifications?

Re: Fuelizzle Pumpizzle
With a stock turbo I never recomend going over 16 psi. It just doesnt make any more HP, and it will shorten its life. Additionally, you can run that safely on the stock pump. You should always run a datalogger though to be sure that you are ok. Otherwise you're flying blind and you're at risk regardless of what mods you have.

Re: Fuelizzle Pumpizzle
What's the "normal" psi that a stock 2nd gen turbo put out without any modifications? Obiously I dont own a GST/GSX but I am interested in owing one in the future and I'm just curious. Thanks.

Re: Fuelizzle Pumpizzle
I really wish people would stop spreading that rumor. If stock boost is 14 psi, how is it limited to 10-11?
It may start leaking at 5 psi, but that doesnt mean the turbo cant build over that. 15 psi can be done. There is some waste though, and upgrading the BOV will improve turbo efficiency (by slowing the compressor speed).
