Re: stroker kit

To my knowledge, you can get a 4G64 (2.4L spyder) crank to stroke to 2.3 liters. I could be completely wrong, hopefully 95 GSXracer stops by, as he has recently done it.

Re: stroker kit

SBR and Magnus are building strokers. If you just want the internals checou out car shop inc.

www.slowboyracing.com (4g64/g64b or stroked 4g63)
www.magnusmotorsports.com(only sells 4g64s)
www.carshopinc.com(just internals for stroking the 4g63)

There is plenty of info out there on swapping to a 4g64 or g64b 2.4 liter and using the 4g63 head.

Re: stroker kit

The following companies I have found make stroker engines or kits:

FFWD Connection

VT Engines

Buschur Racing

Forced Performance

DSM Specialties

Crower (the best one in my opinion; only one to make a 2.4L Stroker out of a 4G63 casting - BELIEVE IT)

That's all I can remember right now. I do searches on Google about twice a week to see if anyone new comes up. Just enter 4G63 stroker, works great for me.

I'm running a 4g64 crank in a 4g63 block, bored 60 over (2.4 liter). So I have no idea what you mean by this. I'm assuming I'm misunderstanding your statement.

Re: stroker kit

Look at the actual cc's of your displacement. Even though Mitsu called it a 2.4L it is only a 2.35L by the cc's (2351). The Crower kit makes an extra 2mm in stroke allowing a realistic 2.4L by the actual cc's (2398). So I'm sorry to tell you, you don't have a 2.4L.

Dont be sorry, chances are my car will still molest yours all the way down the track. Now that thats out of the way, here is a lesson in math.

My bore, and that of the 4g64, is 87.5mm, and the stroke is 100mm. Thats stock 4g64 crank from mitsu, and 4g63 bored 60 over. /060 inches is 1.524 mm, stock 4g63 is 86mm bore. 87.5, which is the same as the 4g64 block bore.

Displacement equal Pi(bore/2)squared x stroke x number of cylinders.

In metric units:

3.14*87.5/2*87.5/2*100*4 = 2404062.5

Divide by 100 to convert from mm3 to cc3 (2404.06), then again to convert cc3 to liters (1 cc equals mL) (2.404).

2.404 sounds like a 2.4 liter to me. Lets do it in english units for all the rednecks out there. 87.5mm equals 3.444872 inches, and 100mm is 3.936996 inches. Same formula.

3.14*1.72*1.72*3.936996x4 = 146.70 cubic inches.

Convert cubic inches to liters, and you get 2403.982 liters.

Again, sounds fine to me. If you dont like my math, try one of the many calculators out there, like this one http://www.btinternet.com/~mezporting/enginepower.html, here http://www.torinocobra.com/Randys_tools.htm, etc...

And I wont even mention that 50 cc difference would mean 2 percent less power than a full 2.4 anyway. At 500 HP we're talking 10 horse.

Why do you people like to twist my nuts....

Re: stroker kit

1) Not a newbie, just new to AF.

2) The stock dimenstions of a 4G63 are 85mm bore, 86mm stroke. Try again.

Re: stroker kit

Yep, our 2.0L aren't actually 2L's. I have the service manuals at home (I'm at work right now). If I remember right the 4G63 comes in around 1990 cc's. Sorry for not being specific, I just don't have my manual handy.

Alright. I dont like your "sorry to tell you" and "try again" attitude. Its a pisspoor halfassed attempt at being cool. But, I can admit when I am wrong. I was going from memory, and my memory was wrong. It does in fact work out to 2.35 with an 86.5 bore, which I believe is correct. But like I said its a 10 HP difference between the two at my HP level, so you are in fact still twisting my nuts. I stand by that statement... Good catch, and welcome to the site.
