Can you yes, will it look good?... maybe. painted plastic bodies and making them look good it hard work. To make them look good, you need to follow more of an automotive way of painting rather than what you would usually do for lexan. You will need to do many coats, to cover up the old paint, you will probally need at least 2 coats, but more likely 3 or maybe more depending on what the other color is. to make it easier, i think ive seen primer, so you could use that to help. after its painted, sand it down with fine grits, like start with something like 200 and move your way up till its nice and shiny. Then to keep it looking good, add a clear coat. Its time consuming, but that will be about the only way it will actually look good.

[edit] you can use any paint you want, it shouldnt matter. [/edit]

i kinda figured it would take some work to do it. i mean i know its not lexan. now about painting....would it be better for me to leave the paint that is on it there and paint over it or should i take the extra time to remove it

Re: painting plastic...

thats up to you. ive done both with decent results. ive never put alot of effort into painted plastic bodies. I dont think i havent painted a plastic body in years, but that is how its done.

Re: painting plastic...

oh, ya if you paint over it, try to find a primer, that should help the older color to not come through as easilly requiring less coats of paint.
