98 Contour probs please help
OK yesterday my service engine light came on. And it seemed to lack alota power took a long time to get up to speed for the engine to real kick in. Now today it wont start at all to go have a computer hooked to it to do the diognostics. What do you think this could be? by turning off the car and back on the light never went out btw. a sensor of some kind? Also ive always kept the oil changed and its always clear. Already tried replacing the ignition coil someone told me it could be that. p1383 variable cam time overretarded

i can tell you that eventually your car will die and you will dump fuel into your oil. i just had mine fixed after it died. it maybe 1 day or 1 year but it will happen. i had my Cel on for about a year than all the sudden it died and would not start again. i think it is a design flaw but no body wants to call ford to complain about it like i did so they wont consider a recall with this part. it is the VCT solenoid and it is a internal part that will require the removal of your cam to get to it. i paid over 600.00 to get mine running again. they tell you to keep clean oil in it to help but dont beleive it. mine always had clean oil.
