technology is catching up with those things, police are able to detect whether you have one or not i think....

Re: laser jammers/radar detectors

^ If you dont know, dont post. Laser jammers work great, radar jammers dont and are illegal. Road & Track did a test in an issue many years back, the Lidatek LaserECHO came out on top so I got one, Combined with my Bell detector, I only ever got one ticket: back in college, I had the music turned up so loud I couldn't hear the detector going off!!

Jammers temporarily prevent or interfere with the function of the police radar or lidar equipment, and either prevent them from recording your speed or reduce their range, giving you more time to slow down before they take a reading.
Be warned, jammers are ILLEGAL.
Yeah, so's speeding, but the penalties for using a jammer are much greater.

Probably the best independent site for information is

SpeedZones

They do independent tests on all the ways to defeat radar and laser detectors.

Jammers are illegal and can be detected by the newer guns so stay away from them. One piece of advice that keeps showing up is not to buy anything from Rocky Mountain. According to numerous tests none of their products are effective.

Their are no detection devices for Vascar since it is simply a glorified stopwatch attached to a computer. Many of the new laser and radar guns have instant on features that make detectors much less effective.

If you drive a commercial vehicle, and this can include pickups over 10,000 lbs., detectors are illegal in all states.

Re: laser jammers/radar detectors

Cops are also starting to use sequence photos to determine the speed you're going. By timing how long it takes you to go from pic.1 to pic.2 to pic.3 your speed can be determined. How do you stop that?

Huh, National Geographic was right. Pigs are smart.

Re: laser jammers/radar detectors

I got pulled over a few months ago by them using 2 lines and a computer. They weren't raised lines, so I don't know if they had sensors, or if it was the pictures you were talking about. But they had a computer calculate my speed by the time it took to get from line A to line B, and it was VERY accurate. (Luckily the cop was nice, and said I was the only person to actually admit to speeding that day, so he went to court with me and asked the judge to dismiss it).

The best advice i can give you on this one it so place a few washers behind you licence plate to give it a slight upward tilt. clean your licence plate really well then give it a few shots of clear spray paint. Polish like hell!!!! If you get it shiny enough the plate will act like a mirror and redrict the light away from the lense of the camera so you plate will appear as a white rectangle in the picture, making it almost impossible to get the ticket. Plus most pigs arent smart enought to take a protracter to your plate and check the angle even if you do get pulled over I know i have gotten the pics taken at least 20 times and ive never had a ticket yet!!!!
