Throttle Body Spacers

Just wondering if they really work. I have a 92 Full Size with a 350 and I am interested in buying a throttle body spacer. They claim to give much better low end torque and improved fuel mileage. The one I am considering is an AirRaid brand and it cost about $100. Just like to hear some real world gains (if any) from people that use them. Thanks

Re: Throttle Body Spacers

Have installed the phenolic spacers for several guys, each of them claim that it actually works for more torque, and better mileage. But, its up to the individual I guess, I never really noticed much of a difference.

TBS is something i'm definately putting on my truck, but it'll be this summer before I get to it. I've heard that they work pretty good and it's one of the most simplest bolt ons.

Thanks for the replies. I've always been pretty skeptical about products claims on performance improvements, especially the easy bolt ons and relatively in-expensive ones. However, about 2 weeks ago I had Flowmasters installed on my truck and they have improved my fuel mileage by about 1 mpg. So I figure that maybe the throttle body spacers are for real. Thanks again

Re: Throttle Body Spacers

Throttle body spacers are a waste of time. The increase in power and gas mileage is all in your head. Just my 2 cents

Re: Throttle Body Spacers

i agree. THe airflow in a TBI motor is fast enough already. I'd get some L98 heads over the spacer. They can be found pretty cheap on Ebay. I say save the $100.
