Which Hose? trying to install flush kit

I'm trying to install a Prestone flush kit for my radiator.

The directions say not to use "hose # 1", which goes from the fire wall to the water pump.

I'm supposed to use "hose # 2", which goes from the firewall to the top of the engine. Well one of the hoses says "engine top" on it, but it seems to split, one part going to the top of the engine, and the other part going to the water pump.

The other hose goes in the side, towards the top, but not at the top.

Please help,

I have a 1999 Chevy Malibu

Thanks in advance.
