I know Dodge wants you to use their fluids but I want to try the Royal Purple Synthetic fluid in mine. 94 Dodge Ram truck
The company rep said it would meet or beat the factory fluid. Has anyone else been using it with any luck? I live in El centro and I think this should help with the extreme summer heat. Thanks |

I talked to the rep from Purple oil and he insists that their fluid doubles the protection that the ATF +4 does.
We are going to run all our Dodges with the Purple oil in our fleet. What's the worst that can happen?

Re: Synthetic fluid in dodge trannies?
I'd think you were just asking for trouble if you weren't running it with the same stuff it came with...

Re: Synthetic fluid in dodge trannies?
And after looking @ the Royal Purple website, they do say that they don't have a replacement for the ATF+4.
See: http://www.royalpurple.com/techa/tranxref.html So Bleed and Jordan.... are right, you're better off using the Mopar fluid in it. |

Although RP does have synthetics for everywhere else in your vehicle.
