Re: Prelude help

Are talking about a stock motor for a prelude or hittings 13's 14's after upgrades?

he's talking about all-motor, which I'm defining as no FI, nor N20.

so simply bolt-ons, in order to "free up" power that is lost mechanically.

Re: Prelude help

It's expensive, but there is a way. Here's an incredibly rough overview of it:

First off, get your I/H/E done. Then, to keep up with the greater flow, you'll want to start getting more fuel via fuel pump, fuel pressure gauge, and a fuel computer. You need an wideband O2 sensor and a dyno to tune it afterwards. You can start messing with compression after this, but its not a good thing for a daily driver (premium pump gas is slowly becoming unusable.. you need race gas). To run it higher, you need to get forged pistons. You can't do this without sleeving the block. Be warned, going too high will mess with your timing components. You'll want stronger everything; rods and valves. Tune, tune, tune. Going to a dyno is a necessity, not an option.

Re: Prelude help

i see, that sounds pretty complicated

but isnt there a way to make the prelude lighter and removing stock parts and adding performance parts...
would that decrease the 1/4 time by a few seconds lik for ie. i/h/e and stuff like intake minifold and so on
woul those stuff make a difference?

As far as it is about making the Prelude lighter remove everything you donīt need from the trunk, get a CF hood, lighter rims, remove back seats, get lighter front seats, remove AC,......

I/ h/ e is a good start and IMO the best intake for a 5th gen Prelude is the JDM Prelude Type-S intake system with a K&N drop in filter. 5th gen headers are already well designed so donīt get something "cheap" like a DC header or anything like that. Greddy, Mugen, SMSP,.... are well designed headers for example. When it comes to exhaust systems Mugen and Thermal are good for example...Use the search function for these parts and you will get some more ideas about what is good an what not.
Getting a new intake manifold is not a good idea as far as I know except if you have already done some internal work like ported/ polished head, new cams,....
And donīt waste your money on ignition stuff because the stock ignition is already damn well designed, too.

Hope it helped a bit and please correct me if anything is wrong!?
