spark plugs question.

hi yall,
Today I went looking around for some spark plugs and wires for my camaro. It took me 3 hours to find a place that sold plugs and even then the place told me that 93+ camaro's only took platinum spark plugs so i had no choice but to fork out $35 U.S. for a set of AC Delco platinum plugs coz thats all i could find. I couldn't find wires anywhere though. apparently they're all out in the WHOLE COUNTRY. I live in the Emirates you see and here nothing makes sense. I can get them ordered but that'll take weeks or so from the dealership.

Anyway, i'm not sure if my wires are bad or not. what i wanted to know was if I install the new plugs but one of the old ignition wires (assuming I reuse them) is bad then will it damage the new plugs? Thanks.
