Squeaking new brakes

I replaced old front discs and brake pads with new ones and changed brake pads at rear. I drove about 1000 miles with these new sets and made some heavy braking - so I believe that pads are well shaped on discs.

At the beggining, they were squeaking, but now they are squeaking a little bit more. First 2 miles nothing, but then they start squeaking. They squeak only when I brake smoothly, not with heavy braking. Brakes and pads are not overheated, because they are braking perfectly. Brake pads are from Nippon, brake discs are from Brembo.

If anyone knows how to get rid of this annoying sound, please tell me.

Hey Gregs did you try putting some brake quiet on the back of the pads? Go to your nearest parts store and pick up a can It will run you about 5 bucks. Take your brake pads off spray some liberally and place them back on the caliper. Do not try to spray with them in place and the caliper attached to your rotor. You dont want to get any of that on your caliper also dont let any get on the front of your pads where they make contact with the rotor.
Mine were squeaking and yesterday I corrected the problem with some brake quiet.

Also try not to get any on your hands. That shit is sticky.

Hope that helps.

Re: Squeaking new brakes

A friend who tested brakes, made them burnt out. Need to replace brake pads. For better ones. And hopefully not squeaking ones...

Re: Squeaking new brakes

What happens is the pads leading edge hits the rotor, digs in and chatters. When you get on the brakes hard the pistons hold the pad flat against the rotor so they cant move, dont vibrate, and therefor dont squeel. Perfectly normal. The brake quiet or other sticky products will help to adhere the pad to the piston so it doesnt move as much, and also servers to add mass to the pad and dampen the vibration. Its like dynamat for your brakes
