Electrical Problem?

Hi, I own a 89 camero, and I'm having some electrical problems with it.
The fuse, that goes inside for the automatic doorlock, and the horn of the car, its burn out. And every time I replace it with a new one, it will last for about 10 minutes, and it will burn out again. What can I do to fix this????

I will really appreciate any help I can get.
Thanx

Re: Electrical Problem?

you have a short in the system. somewhere the insulation on the wire has been rubbed off on a metal surface, and the power is going strait to ground. causing the short out. chase the wire, find the rub through, put foam tape on it, and then see if the fuse blows.

try disconnecting one power door lock switch. at a time if the fuse does not blow when one of the switches is disconnected then it is either a bad switch or you're short is on the wires to that switch. hope this helps.if the fuse still blows then try disconnecting the horn to see if the fuse still blows if it does not hook the horn up straight to the battery to see if it works. also make sure you are using the right size fuse
