Angry can't get tranny into gear

Hey Guys,

HELP!!! I can't get home...

Have a 2003 automatic GL. Today, when I tried to go back to work the ASL light wouldn't go off when I pressed on the brake and I couldn't put the car into drive. I tried restarting my car and was finally able to get into gear when I started the car with my foot on the brake (no ASL light on at all). When driving the EPC light came on and went off before I got back to work. When I tried to leave again, restarting my car with my foot on the brake did nothing for me. The ASL wouldn't go off...no EPC light this time though. Anyone had problems like this? Anyone know what this could be? I'm assumming this is some sort of malfunctioning relay. The dealers are a bunch of idiots and even though my car is under warranty I want to know what the problem is.

Thanks Guys,

Kris

Re: can't get tranny into gear

When it's not wiling to come out of park have someone look to see if you have brake lights, if not it's probably the switch at the brake pedal. If they work listen for a clicking/clunking at the shifter, sometimes the solenoid sticks & needs adjusting.
