Very sad news. And now France and the U.S. are apparently 'talked' about being the next targets. And I just heard that a plan to attack America again is 90% complete. How that is known I have no clue, and the news reporter(Neil Cavuto) didn't sound too strong in saying it either. Definately affecting the stock market as well. Which isn't good for me and my investments.

Re: Terror Attacks in Spain...Madrid

i don't understand why Al Queada would target spain (BBC said they were prime suspects). There's nothing logical about it. Its a tragedy though and there's nothing logical about terrorism anyway.

I feel sorry for the people who got hurt.

Re: Terror Attacks in Spain...Madrid

First they thought it was Basque seperatists, but do they usually attack plain civilian targets?

I knew it was going to be blamed on Al Qaeda eventually...

Yes, I think that the Basque speratists do attack plain civilian targets. I am not 100% sure, though.

I too also feel very sorry for all the people who where hurt during this tragic event.

“This is part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader, and America’s ally in its war against Islam,” the claim said.

The statement taunted the prime minister, asking: “Aznar, where is America? Who will protect you, Britain, Japan, Italy and others from us?”

That's why. They're trying to turn allied countries against each other. Hopefully people won't take the bait.

Spanish authorities, while not totally dismissing other versions, are pretty convinced it's ETA, a militant Basque separatist group, who's responsible.

Re: Terror Attacks in Spain...Madrid

When I first heard about it the first thought I had was ETA. I guess we'll see. Or not. Who knows.

I just feel for all the people who've lost loved ones

Too early to know for sure who is ultimately responsible. No good asking American intelligence though, they have proven to be hopeless.

The loss of life was horrendous. Almost 200 dead. Considering that there were over fourteen hundred wounded, the loss of life could have been much higher.

Re: Terror Attacks in Spain...Madrid

I am swaying between ETA and a foreign org.

There are elements of both, and the MO doesn't fit either of them prefectly as it often does.

At the moment I am thinking maybe a splinter group a la PIRA.
