Prelude vs Integra vs Talon
Hi all, I plan on buying a new car in the near future and I was thinking about 1 of those 3 cars. It would be a 96 or 97 and I'm interested in the best model for those 3 cars, so type R for integra (GS-R if 96), TSI AWD for Talon, SI VTEC for 96 prelude or SH for 97 prelude. I'm willing to spend around 10k canadian on a car, so I was wondering what would be the best deal.
I dont know yet if I will mod the car I'll buy, but what would be better in term of engine power, acceleration (I will probably race it a bit), price, durability and options that come with the car? Also if you have a better car to suggest, tell me what it is, but dont forget that I live in Canada. Any input would be appreciated. |

the prelude would be the slowest one there. but it will also be the best built second to the type R. if you want to mod then you should get a talon awd. the first gens with bolt ons running 16 psi on the stock 14b turbo will run a 13.3 on the 1/4. ( this is proven. someone i know has done it ) the engine can also hold up to 400hp. you can't get that with any honda. plus front wheel drives are gay as hell. they will never be real performance cars. even the type R has its limits once modded. a well sorted RWD will out handle a well sorted FWD with equal drivers. however since no RWD was mentioned you got a AWD which makes for crazy out off the line launched ( if your willing to change clutches often ) and once you start putting major power in a FWD ( anything over 200whp, and near 190 ft lb of tq at the wheels ) you will be spinning your tires like crazy. my friend with a turbo integra can't laucnh for shit. and he can spin all thru first and second and can spin goin to third. and he only makes 200whp. not the best setup.

Re: Prelude vs Integra vs Talon
I doubt you'll be able to get any of those cars for under 14k. to get those cars for under 10k, your gunna have to look at older models (1994 and under). Go to www.canadatrader.com to get a better idea of what you can afford or how much $$ you need to meet your goals.

Re: Prelude vs Integra vs Talon
I have a friend each with one of those cars. 96 GSR, 95 TSi, and a 94 SH, the Talon is way faster and not FWD. The Prelude looks cool but isn't fast. The GSR has too high a compression ratio for turboing. Get a first gen. Tsi/GSX. It came with the stongest motor, and makes more power. It'll also be cheaper since it's older.I'm not sure on this, but it looks to be smaller thus lighter weight.

cobra is right get a 1st gen turbo AWD dsm, the 4g63 in those things is buletproof and responds very well to mods

Re: Prelude vs Integra vs Talon
Someone explain to me why a 92-94 Prelude VTEC is slower than a GSR.
