Question '00 Tiburon Car Stereo Help

*ahem* This is my first Tiburon, and I have no clue on how to remove the dashboard interior, so I can get my factory radio out, and put in my cd player. I have the '00 Tib (base model) and have tried to pull on the plastic parts here and there, but I'm afraid I'll break something! I have put in a thread about installing 6x9's and Tibby01 (I belive was the forum name) helped me out - but the links he gave me does not support car stereo. Can someone please tell me step by step or provide me with a link on how to do this? I've done car stereo stuff before, just not in a Tiburon. I had a '00 Cavalier and once I figured that crap out, it was piece 'o cake

Thanks for the help!

dude, getting the factory radio out is a peice of cake. unscrew the shift knob. then get your fingers underneath the ledge where the shift boot meets the shifter surround plastic peice thingy. then just pull straight up. nothing but clips. then pull straight out on the peice around the radio. get it by the sides though, not the little thin plastic peice that is in front of the ashtray thing. then its just four screws(maybe two, depending on which radio you have in there) and you are done. when putting everything back together, make sure the radio surround peice is lined up correctly, cause it has a tendency to go in crooked on mine.

ooooo, found pictures for you...

All I have to say, is OMFG! Where in the h3ll did you get those diagrams at? HOW did you come up with them? I looked on google.com for HOURS on end for stuff like that and could not find a friggin' thing! WOW! Dude, you are truly my savior when it comes to car/stereo for Tiburons.

One more thing I forgot to mention....the diagrams for the link you provided me with. I have a 5 speed (manual tranny) do the instructions also account for the manual trannies? B/c the pics show a automatic shifter....just wondering. BTW, call me a noob...'s ok....I am learning still

yup, same thing with the manual.

btw, that site is my bible. we dont need hayne's manuals, because that site contains EVERYTHING. complete schematics, shop manual, technical service bulletins, OBD-II scan codes. you name it, its got it.
