Well I have tried several digit cams from 2.0 up to 5.0 mega and I can tell you if optic is good (not to small lens) and the light conditions are good (daylight of course outside) you can get almost same pictures (in 1280x720 not larger) with 2.0 and 5.0, please I am not trying to offend anyone but the difference is very small.
As for the quality of your model it is all up to you, the true is you can take excellent photo of not so excellent model and it will look good on picture but will you be happy about it? And on the other hand if you make outstanding model not even crapiest picture will not ruin it.

Example
This one is taken with 3.2 Mega on daylight

and this one with high tech 5.0 but with flash in poor light

Re: models or camera?

The camera is a great investment and you will ove having one. Look for one with a Mcaro setting and one you can set the white balance on, especially if using flourescents for lighting. With the proper white balance setting you cna get the colors correct.

Re: Re: models or camera?

Good luck with your exchanging. I wish I had a camera with macro, but I'm too cheap to buy one.

no you dont need a macro lens.. a 2megapixels camera gives you like a 1600x1200 picture so you can just shoot at a distance and crop it.

however.. let me tell you what you must need..

a tripod.. thats right.. a tripod.. borrow one if you must I dont care..

look at my progress threads Im not kidding..

did I say get a tripod???

I'll say it again..
