I bought this truck new in '95. 2.2 4 banger.
Put a new engine in it this year. Almost 3oo,ooo miles. Truck is super dependable. Here are my problems... I Changed out both head lights, when one burned out. The new headlights are very dim, night driving very difficult, forget it when it rains at night. Did I buy a bad set of headlights or is my problem a relay or a voltage regulator, no problem w/alternator charging battery. On the turn signal problem... I was pulling a trailer, and noticed one of my wire connectors had come apart, touching the bumper, thus shorting out the system. The brake lights quit working, and the turn signals flash very fast, I replaced one of the relays in the glove box, and could only get the left side brake light to work, so I replaced all 3, and the brake lights now work. Is the problem with one of my flasher modules? The hazard lights blink at normal speed. Any suggestions on the turn signal and the dim headlight fix? Thanks in advance! Check the ground on the headlights (I hope you didn't put higher wattage bulbs in).
Check the ground and bulbs on the turn signals. Use a test light and/or a voltmeter. |

The Three relays in the glove box are for the fuel pump, horn and daytime running lights from left to right. Good luck

I had to replace all three relays to get the brake lights to work.
