GM doesn't mean the same!

I'm so utterly fed up with all of the idiots who insist that just because two cars are made by GM they MUST be exactly the same as every thing else. Don't these people realize that GM makes cars, trains, electronics, etc. I'm so tired of these fools who believe that a SBC 400 and a pontiac 400 are the same thing. It get so old tell ing people over and over that the waterpump they just gave you wont work because you have a pontiac! Or to have people insist that they, the all mighty of Stupid Ideas, knows more about your car than you do! I'm sick of parts guys looking at me funny when I ask for a valley pan gasket.

So, I say B-O-P and caddy owners unite! Let us stand tall, and proud. Let us tell the world that "Just because a car was made by GM doesn't mean it's a d**n Chevy!"

Re: GM doesn't mean the same!

I think he's pissed about people saying that a poncho part will fit on a chevy, an olds part will fit on a buick, mix and match- you get the idea.
This is true for some parts. The fenders from a '85 caprice, for example, will fit a '85 parisienne. But the intake from a pontiac 400 won't fit a chevy 400.
I'm sure that blue02r6 knows his car inside and out, and it's like pulling out a nose hair when someone at the parts store tells him he's wrong.
We have a store where I am called Canadian Tire. It has pretty much everything from car parts to gardening tools to small appliances. I've walked in there with a part in my hand, and been told that it doesn't exist! So, what I do now is turn the monitor around, reach across the counter and punch the info in myself, then turn the screen back to the parts guy and tell him "get me this, thank you."
Now I don't get frustrated anymore

I don't mind chevys either, I own one but thats what every body allways says, "Your Firebird is the same as a Camaro, They're both made by GM." It's very frustrating.

BrunM you read my mind.
