Question Totol Loss !!! HELP !

My brother banged his car yesterday , which was declared as "Total Loss". Now his company wont give him insurance on this vehicle even if its repaired(as it was his fault and he had third party insurance only). He is thinking for giving it to salvage.
My question is that if I have the car fixed is it possible have it reinsured on my name or resell to somebody. Is there a law that a "total loss" vehicle is always supposed to go to junkyard ?
pls let me knowif anybody has some idea or experience.
thanks- SG

I would call the DMV in your state. NJ? Then cal the insurance company. Missouri has what are known as "Salvage Titles." I've known people who have bought their cars back from the insurance company and fixed them up.
