not to be a dick or nothing but can you please use english and type correct! ok the spyder is nice but with a stereo its not goin to be as loud as if you had a non convertable, what makes it louder is the sound waves and the pressure that bounces around in the non convertable! plus there is more pressure in there!

With the spyder, not only will you NOT see the trunk, you'll have barely any room to call a trunk for you system. The hard top eclipse has the glass where you can see your trunk.

Re: spyder vs no spyder??

This is true as well... as i, a spyder owner, have experience:
1.) Theft, when my car got stolen(though it was because my sister was a moron. The radio is just as easy to steal out of a hard top as it is for a convertible. If people are willing to do damage, they'll break the window before they try to go through the ragtop, which isn't quite as easy as you'd think to go through)
2.)Leaking top, but i've learned to accept it after having 3 convertibles.
I hope to never experience the third.

Another thing to think about is that the convertable adds a lot of weight and dosnt give you good down force when you are driving. If you want any speed dont bother.

That's not necessarily true... the source i used is MSN for these weight specs:

GS - Automatic
Coupe - 2855
Spyder - 2888
33lb difference

GS - Manual
Coupe - 2932
Spyder - 2943
11lb difference

GST - Automatic
Coupe - 2899
Spyder - 3053
154lb difference

GST - Manual
Coupe - 2976
Spyder - 3142
166lb difference

GSX Automatic - 3130
GST Spyder Auto - 3053
The Spyder is 77lbs lighter than the GSX

GSX Manual - 3208
GST Spyder Manual - 3142
The Spyder is 66lbs lighter than the GSX

The biggest difference is between the GST Coupe and Spyder. That's probably the only weight difference that would be noticable, but not by much i think.

Re: spyder vs no spyder??

You should go look at the trunk of a spyder. You cannot have a system that will hit like you would want it to. Good luck with your 8s or 10s..if even a good box for 10s could fit...that is all you will be able to fit unless you have a super custom box built.

Re: spyder vs no spyder??

With minimal bolt on mods....i.e. Injen intake, 1g BOV, down pipe, hi-flow cat, boosting at 16 psi (I took GSXracers advice and turned it down from 18) I can take my buddy’s '95 GST, which has no mods except the BCS Restrictor removal, by 3 - 4 car lengths at 80mph. And that's with the top down. Spyder is definitely the way to go!!!!
