Removing Dash in 94 cavi

Okay i have gotten as far as removing the AC vents. but i need to remove the part that surrounds it. It says at http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereor...vyCavalier.htm
that i need to pry ac vents releasing one clip, well i can get the vents out but i cant get out the part that holds the vents in, that clip doesnt seem to come out at all. i have tried just about everything, has anyone found a way to do this?
please help.

The large black trim piece under the vents comes out without taking the vent trim piece off. Just pull at the bottom of it and it slides out from the vents.
