help with rotory

i have questions my friend is gettin a rx-7 and wanted to know when hed have to change oil seels ect. if you all could give me the specs on this it would be greatly apretiated thx in advanced.

There is a test you can perform for visual wear indication/blowby of the oil control rings:

- Unscrew and remove the oil filter cap (opens a giant crankcase ventilation and removes that as a possible symptoms of burning oil smoke in the exhaust)
- Warm the engine up to operating temperature
- Throttle the engine to 4000rpm and hold for 30 seconds

If the engine is burning billows of blue-ish (oil) smoke, then there's some blow-by between the crankshaft and the two combustion chambers somewhere. More than likely, if the engine is originaly from the 80's/early 90's, then the older Mazda oil control ring o-rings are suspect. They changed the type of o-ring they used later on down the road because of this.
