In stock form, the fastest would be Evo 7 RS because of the lower weight and better gearing ratio. The April issue of Best Motoring bears this out. This does not include the Extreme, Zero Fighter etc.

Evo VI eXtreme II or the Evo VII eXtreme-S.

The Zero Fighter is also a quick little bastard.

Reason why these are the fastest: Because of gear ratios, changed clutches and bodyparts.

You can read more @ the site Under Evo Care and Safety.

The 6.5 = Makinen Edition which comes in Makinen, and Makinen RS(2).

Do you mean the Evo 6 or Evo 7 redesigned??

*confused* The E6 was redesigned --> Zero Fighter, eXtreme I + II, RS450 all basically by RALLIART UK

Japan also has a ZF to their collection.

Evo VII So far: eXtreme, eXtreme-S (on the site v-soon)... from what i've seen.

My bad

Starting with the EVO V, every generation or new model after it has been completely redesigned right? And what makes the Zero fighter so quick, read about it in Turbo mag, and Sport compact car, but there coverage was limited!

Well...The Chassis runs lower, but on stiffer springs and Dampers. The Anti-Roll bars are thicker and the mounts are firmer.

The Result of all this is labour is 340bhp and a increase of 60hp over the standard Evo VI and the RS sprint, Boost Pressure remains at 1.1 Bar against the RS 1.3 Bar setting.

Overall it means you get the same power with less stress on the internals.

So in short

So its really, the 6.5 is a hopped up 6 with beefier suspension and handling parts, that are lighter as well, with the same power?
So why did they bring out the evo VII, need a new better model.

The 6.5 is a Makinen Special edition brought out to acknowledge makinens feats. Thats all it is, its got some refinements but the main aspect is its titanium turbo shaft.

The EVO VII was due to come out anyway I think, Your not going to compare a Evo VI TME (2000) with a Newer 2001 WRX STi now are you.

Competition and the performance market forces newer EVOs and WRX's.
What else will compete with these cheap japanese saloons? not Mercs!

Makinins feats...

The man faught wars in his ride.
It's cool to have a car name after you.
No I don't mean to compare it to a wrx, but industry and market here compare them, though there is no comparison. In the rally beside peugoet, there really aren't that many others out there that you here about.
So whats the real story behind going to subaru for him?

Im not sure, probably no one is... but if he wants to go to subie, let him..
I think it was actually the Car, he didnt like the EVO VII he bitched too much.. 2 crashes etc, plus he was also bitching about the EVO VI last year or in late 2000, not sure but he wasnt too happy.

We will have some good drivers for our EVO VII WRC's anyway!
