I need help with distruiputor and tranny!!!

I have a 1990 honda civic si, the guy I bought it off of said it has a 94 vtech from a 94 civic, I dunno if this is true but It is from a 92-95 civic cause a mechanic told me this from the numbers off the block.

I have the 1990 distributor and
it does not match with the engine, the guy who had it before me used
washers to bolt it on because the bolt holes do not line up. The distributor is grinding now so I have to replace it, so should I just get another 90 distributor and do the same thing with the washers?

Also when I down shift and let off the clutch the tranny makes a noise, its hard to explain, its only when im down shifting to slow down, when i give it gas the noise stops.

Last question, I got 17 inch rims and on the front right one I have been breaking studs, I probably have broken off all 4 at different times and replaced them, whata causes this? One mechanic said it was from driving to fast or my rims were screwed
Thanks alot

Re: I need help with distruiputor and tranny!!!

weve used obd0 dizzys on the vtec heads(sohc) and havnt had a prob, although they need to be modified a little.
tranny noise sound like a whiring? mt tranny made a whiring sound when in gear and rolling. in my case it was the tranny mainshaft bearings.
dunno what could cause ur studs to be breaking.

I would really recomend you get the proper DIZZY for your car bro that way you can avoid any problems, that may appear in the near future, I dont know about that "MickeyMouse" shit!!! as for your studs breaking: this might be a stupid question but are your wheels bent or anything like that, becuase that's the only thing that I could think of....

Hi Noob (new person), Welcome the the forum (welcome to the forum, j/k (just kidding))

A dizzy is the distributor, and you should use the 94 version of the dizzy so you don't have to Mickey mouse the thing to the engine. The dizzy is expensive, your best bet is to do some shopping around (maybe autozone etc somewhere that offers a warrenty). GL (Good Luck )

definatly get the dizzy out of the same motor thats in your car.

your studs, could be breaking by being terribly out of alignment, or if they are old and rusty and you like doing burnouts, your just putting too much stress on em.

I would say to take a look to see if the rims are straight.
