Stiff gears (2nd)

Hi all.

I.'ve had a 156 2.4 JTD for about 1 yr and its great although the last couple of months 2nd has been getting harder and harder to get on the change down. If I've been driving the car about 30-40mins it gets much better. Whats wrong? I've changed the oil, made no difference!

Is there any adjustment on the gear selector cables etc?? Or is it a sign of expensive times to come? the cars only covered 75K (mainly motorway driving).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
