Question Hatch Or Keep The Sedan??

whats up?! i just finished my b18c swap into my 89 4dr about 2weeks ago. the body is kind of decent, but still beat up a bit. the car had 189xxx when i bought it. now this guy i know, has a 90 std hatch in excellent condition. no rust no dents no nothing. the paint is still glossy and shiny. it has around 95xxx on it, and i can probably get it for cheap. do you guys think i should get the hatch and swap my b18c into that, or keep the sedan the way it is? ALSO... i had a custom harness made for the b18c to plug right into my 89 dx,would it be the same if i got the 90 hatch, or is there a difference between the two?

Re: Hatch Or Keep The Sedan??

dude go with the Hatch!!!...the sedan is cool, but the hatch is better, I've driven both cars with B series engines, and the hatch's allways tend to feel a little better to me. They feel a little quicker, but that is just me.

Re: Hatch Or Keep The Sedan??

i was thinking the same, cause i had a hatch with the same engine and it did feel quicker for some reason. What do you guys think about the VELOX VX8 WHEELS on ebay. the hatch is red, do you think those wheels in 16" gunmetal with the polished lip would look good?

I say keep the sedan dude. Go sleeper and save some money by just stayin with it. Put the money ,that you were going to buy the hatch with, into the sedan in aftermarket parts and all. I like the hatch body more and it does offer more parts and all but i like the sleper life. Go 4G4D!

4G4D's are more fun. Plus, sealed trunk makes for better sound too. Hatch would be more open air, harder to get good hitting bass.

I agree totally. I just started driving my car on the road and i cranked up the volume for a good song and the bass was hitting hard as hell. And with stock speakers too, and theyre blown totally. I would keep the sedan. But its up to you man and what your taste is like.

Re: Hatch Or Keep The Sedan??

I disagree about the whole bass in a sedan hitting harder. 4 doors tend to rattle much worse than any hatch, and with the trunk space in a hatch being small and it reverberation off the hatch, i think it would sound much better.

gotta go with the hatch man, hatchies are way better then sedans and crx's IMO, plus how often do you think you will come across a deal like that? my - buy the hatch swap the motors. run the B18 in the hatch.

But you gotta think about it, most low bass is felt and not heard. And I dont know what kind of 4G4D you've been in, but the person did a horrible job of imaging the speakers in the car. The way i've got it set up, I can almost pass for half a single 10' sub in the trunk. And its not ghetto with the trunk rattling or anything either. If any system is built right, the trunk rattling wont happen as often.

Yeah go sleeper all the way. Thats what I say. But like I said earlier its your choice and if u just stay with it youll save money and have more to spend on the engine.
