Coolant or ATF leaks

I have a 2001 Eclipse GT Spyder. Anyone with a 2001 V6 have any problems with ATF or coolant leaks. I haven't seen any puddles on the ground under the car but I constantly smell it when I get out of the car after driving it for a few minutes. Plus in the summer I smell it from inside the car while sitting in traffic with the top down. I can't figure out what kind of fluid and niether the cooling or ATf fluids seem to drop. I did read a recall about a ATF cooling line needing to be replace on the 2001's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Doh!

Re: Re: Coolant or ATF leaks

Do you have a Automatic?

I found this on http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/.

Make: MITSUBISHI
Model: ECLIPSE SPYDER
Year: 2001
Recall Number: 01V011001
Summary:
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. A HOSE WAS MIS-MANUFACTURED AND COULD WEAKEN OVER TIME, WHICH COULD RESULT IN LEAKAGE OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID.

By the way this is a great site for finding recalls and issues that others are having with their cars.

Re: Coolant or ATF leaks

Have you checked the fluid levels to see if they have dropped?
