Custom Contest entry: S2000 Fastback progress

I have 3 tests and a presentation this week, so not a lot of progress yet. But I had to take break today so I got started on my custom. It'll be good practice for my Spoon Sports S2000 racer, so I chose to make a fastback S2000. I'm going for phantom look, so it will be real simple and sleek, with no crazy body work, looking like it was just driven off the Honda showroom floor. Mostly.

The mods will include the fastback, of course, and realignment of the trunk shut lines; a new front and rear bumper, and a little sideskirt action. All a bit more aggressive, but not complex. I do not want to take away from the S2000's already subtle, but agressive lines, nor do I want it to look like something Honda would never build. It will be a Volvo red, painted with touchup paint, and the wheels are undecided, possibly Aoshima's NT03's. Other, incedental mods will creep up, so don't sweat it.

And no, this one won't have a motor, sorry. Unless someone wants to send me one for free!

Great project! Are you taking inspiration from the Mooncraft S2000? If not here's some pics to help you with your design.

According to this picture the old lines on trunk lid are still in place (to me it seems like it is not a lid, but just a different type of roof cover) OR it the lines for the new lid.

Re: Custom Contest entry: S2000 Fastback progress

DJPaul - You're right. The Mooncraft part is actually just a hard top that goes to the rear of the car. I have a pic of it open, and the stock trunk lid opens below the Mooncraft one. However, though my inspiration was that, my idea is to make it as if Honda started making a S2000 coupe, sort of like the MG coupes in the '70s.

Re: Custom Contest entry: S2000 Fastback progress

Sounds like a great idea.
Keep it updated.

Edit:
PS Are you planing on making the lid opening?

Paul.
