exhaust problem

I have an '89 tercel that has a big hole in the flex portion of the front exhaust pipe. A replacement front exhaust pipe costs $100. Plus, the bolts to the catalytic converter are looking very rusty--I would like to avoid messing with them. Does anyone know of a clamp-on flex pipe kit that I could install myself? I would appreciate any advice.

Re: exhaust problem

You can buy muffler patch kits from a local auto parts store for about 10-20$.

Unhappy

Those muffler/exhaust patch kits don't work too well, especially at flex joints... They only last for a while. I think you'll be happier replacing it. Hate to say it... So start soaking those bolts in WD40 now for next week's project.
