Ive heard that the R/T neons only get up to 126. But i also heard that neons can get up to 130. But then there is the mitsubishi eclipse with a neon engine that can go 135 with a mitsu head. Whats up with that?

if ur car is a manual, if u pass 120 in 4th gear u can still gain speed up to 130, but i dont recomend this because of the high rpms in 4th gear, ur gonna be pushing red line. and ther problem with that is stock neon pistons like to crack at the oil holes on the wrist pin

I own a 98 ACR 2 door,2.0 dohc.I have learned that they are limited (the 98 model) (some earlier were not),to 135 mph with stock computer,I happen to know for a fact that a toyota solara had to do 140 to just barelly cruze by me on interstate.He got off on my exit pulled me over to see what was up with the fast neon.Suprised to see a plain stock neon ACR. I have since added a mpoar performance computer,and a not to loud but yet still flowing good exhaust! I need to SLOW THE HELL DOWN! I drive to fast always have.It's nothing to hit 110 on the 2 lane in spots.135 + on interstate we try not to go there often but I am going to guess RPM"S WISE that 155 mph would be at around red line.It still has rev limit in 1-4 slightly higher but we dont need to run it up that high since at a certain rpm the power starts to decrease.Old rev limiter was near 7400 rpm's mopar performance computer 7800 rpm's.Tested this only once it's there for a good reason.Reading it wasnt enough.HEHE! hope this helps you out some PEACE.

the top speed on an sohc i believe is 123mph, on the dohc, i think its 130. but i got the dohc mopar pcm for my single and i went 140mph, with room to go

in my 2000 auto i could only get up to about 95 to 100 mph stock. as soon as i added a cat-back system it brought it up to about 120 mph top speed. but like i said; its an automatic

gs eclipse top out at 130 if it is an auto its really sad thats why I upgraded to a gs-t maunual...much better...where are the srt-4 in this forum?

im running stock with a little ghetto do it yourself intake (cone filter from a 03 neon and my stock 95 neon tube) and ive had it to 110 with a little 4 grand rpm my speed gauge doesnt always work though its not connecting all the way in the back so most of the time it stays at 0 so im not sure exactly how fast ive gone in it lol
