|
labor prices
I know there is no way to give a exact price, since different shops, parts ect. but could anyone tell me what kindof charges im looking at (after the actual price of the engine and parts) with a JDM swap into a CRX. (i dont really have a particular engine in mind yet) Any info will be appreciated.

Look around for deals. But like I said first find everything that you are going to need in order to do the swap for you car. I easily saved a few hundred dollars doing it this way. The important thing to remember is that you want quality work done here. You dont want some half-ass job done on your baby!! But just remember what I said take your time dont hurry things and look for deals bro. I got the swap done for a total of $2000 thats with me going out and getting parts. I got charged like $650 in labor!!!! I will never do that again...the only reason I didnt do it my self is becuase I didnt know how to do wiring!! But just get some of your friends and do it yourself, and then just get someone to do the wiring for you. The engine mounts now a days makes it possible to just drop the engine in there with the big deal !!! If you have any questions just let me know or contact me.

Usually shops will charge like anywhere from 50-75 an hour for labor. But also, shops can charge you for every little thing they do, and they can take as long as they like, or push it out as fast as they want. I'd recommend just readin up on it, gettin a few friends over to help you out, and do the swap yourself, youd probably do it in about the same time with help, and itd be hella cheaper.

A b16a1 swap in a 88-91 Si is easy, it only took me 2 days to do. even a DPFI (dx) is not all that difficult to do. I payed the equivalent to 2000$ US for everything, I used HCP motor mounts and got my shifter linkage custom made. take a look at my cardomain site to see, link in my signature.

how does your engine sit with those mounts? The mounts are what brought the price up, because the mounts lower the engine, the shift linkage had to come from hasport to. They also told me that the two old harnesses had to be sent down to hasport for modification. I have new been wait 6 weeks and it will most likely be another 3, so much for the 10 days i was quoted

dude did you take your car to them? Please tell me you didnt becuase you can save alot of money doing this on your own. You can get mounts anywere...real good ones too. anywere between $250-350 and that is for a good set of mounts, completely bolt-on. And you can get your shift-linkage done for you, it's more expensive if you buy one from one of these companies..just look around bro dont settle for less.
