Another ecu question

Hey you are all prob getting tired of me asking questions. Will a P28 Ecu work alright with my manual tranny? The kid doing the swap says it will throw codes but other than that it will work fine! Is this true?

The P28 is an OBD1 ECU... so as long as you have an OBD0-OBD1 conversion wiring harness, it should work just fine. Only real problem you'll have is connecting up the O2 sensors.. well, that was the trickiest part for me.. but the injector rewiring and all that good stuff was easy.

Re: Another ecu question

the p28 ECU will work with your manual tranny. It will throw a check engine light if the P28 ECU you are using is for an automatic transmission, but it will still work.

Re: Another ecu question

I done a auto to a manual swap, but did not change my ecu and my check engine light came on. Does anyone know if this will cause the car to idle funny. Mine jumps from 1,000 to 1,500 when sitting in traffic. It also idles about 2,500 when first starting it up.

Re: Another ecu question

yep as everyone else says what swap. As long as its a manual the p28 ecu can be made to work on ANY honda 4 cylindar.'(exc. Direct fire ignition k-series and 01+civic.)
