Question 351w in 92 explorer ?

I have a 92 explorer 4x4 and I have a 76 ford torino elite with the 351w. The torino is a great running car with only 90000 miles but the body is horrible. I would like to swap the 4.0 for the 351w. I dont have a huge budget and i still would like to keep the 4 wheel drive. would i have to change alot to do the swap.

Re: 351w in 92 explorer ?

you would have to change pretty much the whole drive-train,

i've seen the swaps with Ranger's and their is not really a cheap way to do it,

the Explorer tranny would never hold the 351, i doubt if it would even bolt up,

www.rangerpowersports.com

they have the process explained of all the custom work that needs to be done.
