Talking Should I change the color of my car????

The paint on my car was damaged by acid fumes from my work and the insurance company is going to repaint the entire car.....they are going to strip the car, then primer, base and clear. I am thinking about changing the color and wanted some opinions. The car is currently Metallic Cayenne Red with a tan top and I am considering changing it to Copperhead Pearl. You can see the color at

I was wondering what you guys think? Do you think the color will work with a tan top/tan leather???

Re: Should I change the color of my car????

I had a similar color on a different car (candy tangerine)-sounds queer but it looked cool. As long as you're going to have the door jams and trunk and all those places painted I would do it.

Re: Should I change the color of my car????

Yeah...They are going to paint the jams, under the hood and trunk. I am a chemist at a lab in PA and our air handling system (neutralizes harmful acid fumes before they are released in to the atmosphere) was not working properly and no one knew it for 2 days.....oooops. No Biggie...FREE PAINT JOB. I'm just not sure it would work with a tan top.

Re: Should I change the color of my car????

Nope...Just me! Noone else seems to care. There are only 13 of us working here. It didn't eat all of the paint off or anything...it just left small discolored spots all over the vehicle. It doesn't seem to show as much on the lighter colored cars.

Nice color, I like it, IF you like it, use it, specially if they'll pay for it.

that reminds me when the ac at our building caught fire, a bunch of rubber melted and sent 6 people to the ER, everyone else toke 2 days off sick, i didnt mind to much my buddy and I were marines, so we were used to the smoggy air (field artilery)

Re: Should I change the color of my car????

Thanks to everyone who contributed to my post. Just to let you all know I have decided to tweak the factory color. I am going to make it a little darker and add larger metallic to the paint. I just didn't feel that the copperhead color would look right with a tan top and tan leather. Thanks again!

The color you had up there is a nice color. But I do think you should go with more of a burnt color. It would probobly contrast a bit better with a tan top.

But nice choice of color.
