2000 Dodge Stratus SE 2.4L EGR Valve Flow Probelm
Hello,
Check engine light came on about 4 days ago, so I had a scan done on it and it came back saying "EGR air flow problem...." Anybody have any ideas on where to start? EGR Valve? Tubing? Thanks. P.S. Where on the 2000 Status's 2.4l is the EGR valve located? Is it a Easy DIY? Thanks again. |

EGR problem
Check the connector to the transducer (flat circular black plastic unit) on the top drivers side of the head. Look to see if there is green rust or if the pin has broken off in the female part of the connector. This is the best place to start. The EGR unit is sold as an assembly with the transducer and you will need to replace the assembly but this will cure your problem anyway.
The job is tricky given the location, also the steel bolts screw into the aluminum head so start the bolts by hand carefully. Good luck RG |
