turbo kit on a h22a swap

If I swapped a h22a into my 97 accord would I have to order custom piping? and if so what else would I need to get?

I would "assume" (notice the word "assume") that you would probably be better off taking it to a muffler shop and have the pipes custom made. That isn't as expensive as it sounds. I don't think that the pipes you would get say with a "Prelude" turbo kit would line up with your exhaust coming from the turbo manifold, but again I could be wrong. I would definetly find out from someone who knows for sure, possibly from here on the forums... cause if you're buying a kit God only knows what they are charging you for the pipes you won't be using... probably better off buying piece by piece

Exactly which piping are you talking about? If it's the engine(ie exhaust, header)you'll probably have to go w/ the prelude header, and accord cat-back.THe intercooler piping aould be the application for that turbo, but for whatever the car is it's going in,accord intercooler/for the prelude turbo. You also didn't really say what model accord or h22 mtr you've got so that may either make things easier or harder if the accord is older than 94'.I say 94' becuase up until 97' the jpn spec accord actually had the h22 in it,but were shipped to be sold in japan. So that's the easiest swap to do.It has been done in earlier accord but not w/out more mods as far as mtg the motor. In the later accords 98-up iit seems to not work out so well. The guy i just bought a 97' h22a from ,couldn't get it to work because there apparently is alot more as far as car functions that will not work w/the h22 ecu.He also said that there were wores in the harness that couldn't be wired into the h22 ecu.So it's either going to be an easy swap,a little harder,or seemingly impossible depending on what model accord you've got.hope that helps
