I agree. An SRT-4 is still just a NEON!
Japanese cars will always be vastly superior!

who are you guys kidding?!?

the SRT-4 is fast as hell...

i have not driven one, but did you know that it can pull even and pass a USDM STI at 150 mph? STOCK VS. STOCK
that sh*t blows my mind. and the SRT4 is only $20k!

they've had fewer probs than us 02,03 spec owners too.
04 specs do look like they are running strong. but can't you have respect for both cars, and not call the SRT4 an inferior domestic POS neon...?

Re: my new 2004 spec v

It's quite ignorant to say that, as a whole, Japanese vehicles are superior to American vehicles. Furthermore, in a global marketplace like today it really doesn't make any sense being that so many Japanese cars are designed and manufactured in America. I'm not going to bother going into the finer points as the sheer unabashed ignorance illustrated in stuff like the above post "LOL JAPANESE CARS WILL ALWAYS BE SUPERIOR LOL" demonstrates that reasoning skills may not be an ability some possess or understand here.

For the record, the SRT-4 has a ridiculously well-reinforced bottom end that allows for the addition of factory MOPAR upgrades bringing its output up as high as 300HP. Of course, tuners are already making upwards of 400 stable horsepower on it with no internal engine modifications necessary. Dodge is actually playing with the idea of releasing an AWD edition reminiscent of the old 1g/2g Talon/Eclipse/Laser platform except more in direct competition with the likes of the STi.

I'd be very hard pressed to remember any instances of a Spec V ever triumphing over an SRT-4. You'll have a lot of work ahead of you if you ever intend to live up to your name, neon_killer.

I HATE NEONS! They are girls cars regardless of what anyone says. I will give Dodge props for the engine, but put forced induction on a DE let alone a VQ, you'll smoke most Dodges out thar.

yes because the QR25DE's are built soooo strong to handles boost...

VQ? that would add another 5k which would bring the total price to twice that of an srt-4.

i would certainly hope that a car that costs twice as much could win a race.

Congrats on the new Spec.
They are great cars.

I have an 02' and still love it.

As far as the Neon SRT-4 goes...
Stock they make more horsepower, more torque, and even weight less.

Now as for one keeping up with an STI, that I am not sure about.

But I have to say that despite the added power, they are still Neons, Neons are ugly in my book.

Also, aren't the SRT-4's all wheel drive already?
I thought SRT-4 was Street, Road, Track and 4 wheel drive.
