First Newbie Q, where can i find parts?

Hi all, i'm new to the board and glad i found it. Would you guys happen to know if the 95+ Eclipse K&N FIPK intake would work on the US OZ Rally Lancers. It seems that intake adapters should work on all mitsu's cuz when i find one it says "93+ mitsubishi" instead of any specific model. Am i wrong?

Another question involves the RPW 4-1 headers. They're supposed to be for the 1.8 SOHC 4G93's, but are the exhaust ports for our 2.0's any different? CA emissions legal? hehehe...

well that's it for now. If anybody knows any parts swap with a mirage, eclipse, or any other car for our US Lancers, i'll collect them and put them up on a page. Thanks people...

Newbie Q's

I'm basically in the same boat you are. I bought a '01 Mirage. Nicely enough, the neighborhood children helped me debadge my car while I slept New Year's Eve... rather nice little bastard whore-children!

You found the RPW site, which is about the only site I found that carries parts for the Mirage/Lancer. If you're looking for stateside there are two dealers for RPW here in the US, one in MD (www.phantomracing.net) and one in AZ (www.apparts.netfirms.com). Other than that, none of the other sites I've found are in English.

As for engine swaps, you can always go the MiVEC route. Though I'm not sure what it will take to get a MiVEC engine... or what it would cost to put one in.

Right now I'm stuck being researching the MiVEC or just mod'ing out the engine I have now (1.5L). Other than that, research.

Good luck in your quest. If you find anything, post it up here to share.

Intake/Exhaust

As far as intakes go, RPW has a K&N cold-air intake... ask one of the sites above about price and availability, or send RPW an email. If it says 93+ then it should be good to go. An airbox is an airbox.

For the intake, APParts says the carry 1.5L, 1.8L, and 2.0L engine parts, so I'd ask them. I would imagine that the headers for a 1.8L would NOT be the same. The bolt pattern and the size of the exhaust tubing will most definitely be different. CARB status is a good guess. APParts says that they are not street legal.

I betg to differ on the intake...

Not disin or anything, but talked with K&N and they do not have one available for the US lancer's yet, but they say they are building a filter charger kit for it and cold intake for it. So if you did by chance get it done, please show me, for this is turning out to be one of the great mysteries of our time.

K & N

actually, i was lookin around and the K&N filter suggested by RPW is the Fuel Injection Performance Kit for the 91-95 3000gt's (#knn 57-1500). I ordered one and is gonna see how it fits. it's not a cold air intake, just a oval cone replacement for the airbox. When i have time, i'll look into making a cold air intake.

Anyone have any exhaust suggestions? Lookin for something quiet under normal driving, but gives a loooow tone if any. Try making a "woom" sound with a really low tone. I don't like the throaty or high sounding exhausts at all. Thanks.
