Tree Wires

I will be this fall purchasing a 2003 or 2004 Xterra. I have seen some pics of Xterra's with tree wires but i cannot find any site that sells them when i do a search is there someone that can direct me to a sit that sells them or give me a list of equipment that i can buy to make them myself. Will be thankful for any help.

Not to step on the toes of any well-respected people here that have them, but tree wires are 95% poser mods on most vehicles. If you have a Wrangler, old Rover, or other vehicle with a near-vertical windshield, they have their uses, but their main purpose is to prevent branches from getting hung up against near-vertical windshields. That isn't a problem on the sloped windshield and A-pillar of the Xterra, it does a fine job of nudging branches aside on its own. I suppose if you have a snorkel it might help protect it, but actually the intake horn on the top still sticks clear of 'em so that's not much use after all.
When all is said and done you have something that you have to disassemble to open your hood...

Thanks won't bother with them just seen an X with them is all. Thought it might be something useful but after reading your post and actually thinking about it they wouldn't help much since i do plan on adding a snorkel

I agree with OffroadX, but sometimes those 5% of times I wish I had them when we're going through a really overgrown trail with Fir tree branches. I have a bigger problem with my rack and lights up top. I would almost have to run the wires to the top of the rack to really get any use out of them. Just not worth it though.

I hadn't thought about the hood opening thing.
