Driving home today when I felt my belt snap. My alt light came on, I thought it wasn't going to be a problem. Bullshit. One of my pulley's snapped off! Looked to be my water pump. The belt is still good!?!
I took some pics of it but I don't know how to post them. |

Started ripppimg 2 my water pump @2pm. Finally finished @9:30 pm. The hardest part was scraping off my old gasket.
not fun.Flushed my radiator as well. Easy fix. I just hope the permatex seals good. |

Re: Bad Day
I Read Your Post Today, Although You Posted It Several Months Ago.
I Too Was Driving Home , When My Battery Light Came On, The Gauge Dove, And The Temp Soared. I First Thought That I Had Snapped A Belt. Opened The Hood. Belt Was In One Piece, But The Water Pump Shaft Was Bent. I Was Surprised How Easy It Was To Replace The Pump. Not A Hose Connected To It, ( Not Like A Big Block Ford Where Every Hose And Every Bracket Under The Hood Connects To The Water Pump), As You Said The Longest Part Was Removing The Old Gasket, And My Permatex #2 Worked Fine. Have You Ever Had A Problem With Stalling? Thank You |
