Good luck getting a six cylinder in there. I've only seen one Civic with the S2K motor swap and I bet that shit was expensive. Would be the same with an Accord V6 motor. It's pointless. The b16a is a perfect swap for a civic.

it'd be fun to have that much low-end torque to play with (depending on engine, of course), but yeah, that would be a LOT of work, worse then an H22-series engine... you'd need a complete suspension upgrade, major drivetrain mods, the works. major cash.

but hey, if some dudes can fit a Mustang Cobra engine in a focus, and leave the interior completely stock- you can fit a V6 in your civic.

of course, those guys have worked on cars for YEARS, had a complete metalworking shop at their disposal, and spent about 60k... but hey, what's the price limit on speed?

oh, yeah... $130 for 86 in a 65 >.<

Possible but expensive. Why not just get the accord then if you want a 6 cylinder?

If you are looking for the most low end torque out of a swapped b-series motor, the LS has the most low end torque of any of the b-series motors. It has 127 ft-lbs of torque @ 5200rpm (the lowest rpm for peak torque output of any of the b-series), the GSR has 128ft-lbs, but at a higher rpm (6200rpm). The B16Ahas either 111ft-lbs@7000rpm (usdm) or 116ft-lbs@7300rpm (jdm).

I always thought that the B20 had the most low0end torque. 133 ft lbs at 3300 rpm right?

Techincally, that is correct, though your rpm numbers are off...the B20B (usdm) has 133ft-lbs@4300rpm, the B20Z (jdm, 99+) has 133 ft-lbs@4500rpm. The LS has a higher HP output that the B20B though, 142HP@6300rpm vs 126HP@5400. Techincally, the jdm B20Z has 146HP@6200rpm.

I ment of the main b-series, I typically seperate the B20 from the rest in my head, as it's tuned more for a small suv application. I realize though it is a b-series. I still perfer the LS over the B20, 126hp is just too low for a swap, IMO. Still, the B20 makes a great base for a cr/vtec. Also, throwing LS cams into the B20 will bump the power output a bit.

I don't know about you guys, but seems to me that this topic line is misleading.

Anyway, I can't think of there is an I6 motor with transaxles ever made into a FWD car. Beside the 4 banger and transaxles in the civic can bearly fit into the engine bay, what kind of I6 will fit in there?

Now I know there are lots of donkeys out there will try to jump on this post and saying all the craps about it is possible (yeah, it's possible when an idiot that happens to be rich). But please spare me with the talk and show me the facts that some one actually went and spent a crap load of money to get this done.

Re: 95 civic motor swap info about inline 6

how many Honda/Acura cars come with an I6?

Think of how much of PITA it would be to throw in a non Honda motor in there let alone a fucking 6 cylinder.

Yeah, B16 would be your best bet for that generation of civic.

OR

I can post this again because Ive posted it numerous times...K20 (If your budget would allow it). Ive heard that people were able to do it in 5th and 6th gen civics. Heres for the 6th gen civic...

Re: 95 civic motor swap info about inline 6

Even if you do manage to slam a 6 in there, will it even be fun to drive? It will throw off the whole handling dynamics of the car. You'll have to modify the whole suspension so extinsively and you'll have to spend 2g's alone upgrading the brakes. The b16 or 18 is a better choice. There is a EG i know of that had a h22 in it but it couldn't turn...only fast in a straight line. If you want a all around car go with a b-series.

I agree w/ gscivic7 the b-16 is best swap for that year

I don't even understand the point in swapping engines anyways... With all the money you blow on replacing the engine, why don't you just buy a nicer car? With the money that you spend on your civic and a new engine, you could just go out and buy a GSR of probably the same year for a little more. That way you get a sexy looking car and the same engine. Just my opinion at least..

I can see what you mean by this, but i think the whole idea of swapping engines is not the money. it's about how you want it. you can go out and buy a gsr, sure. but it's still going to be the same as everyone else's gsr. swapping motors is all about driving something that you built yourself. it's sort of a self-respect thing almost.... swapping engines is all about being different. just my
