convertible cleaner

Hello
I just bought a 97 miata and the top has alot of black spots on it. I don't know if it's mildew or the previous owner left it under a tree. I have tried simple green and a brush but it won't get it off. Could someone tell me the best convertible cleaner.

I own a Mitsubishi eclipse convertable but my brother and father have matas and we all use 303 protectant which is one of the only cleaners that does not eat stiches and restores the original look of the top. if your interested check out summit racing.com they sell it for like16 dollars for a 20oz bottle. good luck
