hey, how come the three of us ended up on the same thread again? ANyway, my friend and I tried yestersday to get my stock stereo out of my 01 z24 cavi and we couldn't get to the damn thing. I went to H.H. gregg and got the mounting kit and a couple of other things for my pioneer 7 in. in dash dvd/cd player and the picture looks like it holds a regular unit and then has a pocket under the unit for whatever. I haven't opened it yet cause we couldn't get to the damn stereo. I will write back later when we get it in. My friends knows a guy with a custom shop and is going to ask him and then we're trying again on Friday. Do you know if you have to take the whole top of the dash off or not?

yeah the whole top of the dash comes off then the front dash piece comes off too that holds the head unit and heater controls. I got my head unit to fit into the mounting unit so now i'm wiring it up.
