I have a 99 civic si with the original b16a2 with the mods below. when i first put my aem cai i noticed the car whistled slightly but it just sounded cool, didnt think much of it because it was so minute, i sure all you guys who have done it know what im talking about. well i did everything else to my car on the list then i stuck my edelbrock intake manifold and the itr tb on and my super fly custom pepboy's intake (cause aem wont fit anymore
). now the car runs like a damn beast, pulls in the midrange very well but today was the first really warm day so i have the windows and sunroof open and i realized, even though i already knew it did it, that my car whistles really freaking loud and its getting on my nerves . like loud enough my friend can hear it half a mile away when i come down his street. is this normal with im and big tb's? is there anything i can do about it cause i can hear it over my loud stereo. and it only does it at a certain part in the throttle, i floor it it gets overpowered by the engine going vroom and i barely push it and it doesnt do it. ive had my car looked over by the honda dealer and they say its fine but cant figure out the reason. any thoughts would be appreciated. and who wants to buy my used blue aem intake minus the filter? you know you want to!

Re: Why does my car whistle?!?!
I don't really know what u wrote in ur message, but if it does whistle i would assume u dropped a turbo in ur car

by whistling i assume you mean an air sucking/hissing sound.
and since you have an intake, yes its normal. you have nothing to worry about. get used to the sound.

Re: Why does my car whistle?!?!
If its an intake, then you will hear like a sucking sound or a vacumming sound. That is normal

Re: Why does my car whistle?!?!
Mine does the same, so does my friend's Integra, and his friend's Civic. It seems like only AEM intakes do this because I just switched from a diy Prelude intake to an AEM shortram, and it whistles now. It's normal.

Re: Why does my car whistle?!?!
its normal. i have a skunk2 intake manifold and it makes the whistling/howling kind of noise.
