Australian CIVIC problems

Hi everybody!
I'm novice here and would like to ask a few questions about my '90 civc GL hatchback with 3 speed auto trans, I purchased the car ten days ago and I'd really appreciate if you could help me with the following:

1- the headlights assembly have discolored and turning yellowish! they are made of plastic, but the sedan ones are glass, how come?
2- I get some kinda of moisture inside the taillamps! is it normal?
3- the car shakes heavely and emits a roaring noise at the engine bay whenever I go into reverse, what's the matter, any cure?
4- the engine is a twin carb 16 valve 1500cc, any aftermarket performance parts or upgrades?
5- the rear wing doesn't have a brake lamp!! I checked with the local dealer and he told me that they're discontinued!!
6- the mirrors are factory body color painted, whereas all other hatchbacks I've seen are black!!

my car is the Australian version.

Many thanks in advance!

1. Get plastic polish and buff them back. Then clear-coat them. Thats weird though, my '88 GL had glass headlights - on the other hand my SiR has the polycarbonates.

2. No idea on this one - could be the reverse gear.

3. Nope - not really. Best mod is the twin-cam engine out of the '90 CRX or a B16A swap.

5. Assuming you are in NSW, try Honbits or Concorde Wrecking and get the lamped wing (or a SiR/XT25 plastic wing with LEDs).

6. The '88-'89 GLs had black mirrors while the '90-'91s were colour coded.

hi to another Aussie
