The center high mounted stop light (the brake light mounted at the top of the tahoe) in my 99 tahoe has stopped working. I checked the fuses that I thought would be involved, but found nothing.
Anyone know how to diagnose this problem, or how to remove the part and test the light itself? Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: CHMSL problem - HELP
My 95 Tahoe has a similar issue. Only the right two thirds of the LEDs light up. I've priced it out at the dealer and it's approximately $250. Any ideas, aside from buying a new one from the dealer, would be greatly appreciated.

Re: CHMSL problem - HELP
chances are that the thin copper on it have corroded and created an open circuit

Re: CHMSL problem - HELP
If I were you guys, I wouldn't worry about it. I've never heard of someone being pulled over for their CHMSL being out. If you have to have a working one, check your local wrecking yards. GM uses some parts on many different models so you may luck out going to a self service yard and finding one that'll work.

Re: CHMSL problem - HELP
I had a problem with the CHMSL on my Sebring Convertible. Here's a link to what I did:
