89 Cruise Control Problems

I have an 89 Caprice Classic, that intermittentely sets the cruise control on when I'm driving. It accelerates with no warning and no foot on the gas pedal and is dangerous. How can I disconnect the cruise control on my car

disconnect and plug the vacuum 'fill' line running from the servo to the engine

Thanks for the reply, sounds easy enough to do. Though can you give me detail as to where exactly the vacuum fill line is. Is it near the throttle body?

Can this line just be capped off? I'm not really familiar with the 305 engine, any help is greatly appreciated.

find the cruise servo. if it is vacuum type there are two lines to it, a smaller one that goes to the motor, and the larger one that goes to the brake pedal dump valve. unplug the smaller one and plug it with a screw gooped up with rtv. If the cruise servo is electrical (which did exist that year) then simply unplug the electrical connections.
