Driver Side Mirror Replacement on 1991 Cavalier

How do you remove the triangular plastic piece from a manual controlled driver side mirror? We already removed the three screws that hold the mirror, but we need to remove the control cylinder from the plastic assembly...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should be covered in your chiltons or haynes. I used to have one but sold it shortly after selling my car.
