What do I need?

I just got some new speakers for my 88 chevy S10 blazer. I have two 6x9 rockford fosgates and some little ones up in my dash. I still have the stock amp and want some subwoofers. What do I need to get? I was thinking maybe a 1000 watt amp with two tens in the back.

Re: What do I need?

oh ya and theres a couple things i left out. i am a 16 year old on a major budget. I also have a Kenwood MP3 receiver not sure what one though. Car Stereo One (a local company) has a deal going on for a 15" JLAudio Subwoofer for 78 bucks i am not sure which one though. My friend knows this guy that works at the other major company around town TAS electronics and he says i can get two 10 inch subs and 1000 watt amp for 200 cash. Is this good or no? What should I do?

it eould depend on what 10's and what amp if its a legacy amp and lanzar subs then no its not a good deal. Do you want loud insane bass or bass that sounds good and crisp? If your on a budget and don't really care about the quality of the bass just getting loud then go with audiobahn. Good sound quality subs are going to cost you a bit more but will sound better.

Re: What do I need?

For that price I would say the 15" is probably a W0, the sub that started it all for JL. I would say this is still one of the most reliable low priced subs. RF HEs, Infinity Reference, Kicker Comps, Alpine Type S are good budget choices.
I would say stick with major brands or amps that people recommend on this site, swap meet brands are a no-no! Try to pick an amp that will grow with your system. If you can afford a GOOD 2 channel now with low to moderate power then get that because it can be used to power your fronts once you can afford a good larger one for your subs!

Re: What do I need?

for subs, I would goto www.respl.com or www.edesignaudio.com and for amps, I would try to find a tsunami GXA-1000D. I got one for about 220 after shop repair on a busted one.
